Tacos are the best I've had in the city so far AND they have free soup! I loove this place and will be back to try the barbacoa tacos. Thank you tienda santa cruz!

The cake alone deserves it's own review. The white cake, with heavy whipped cream and strawberries dipped in strawberry syrup... OMNOMNOMNOM. Hands down one of the best slices of cake I've ever had in my short existence of life.

The pastor is tasty and delicious. I love how giant the burritos are as you open the wrap. It's like, WHAM! BAM! IN -YO-FACE. Need not have order anxiety and whether or not you'll need more food. On a side note, I do get an extra taco for good measure. Their carne asada as seasoned nicely. It doesn't taste like beef in a cheeseburger.

One drawback with the burrito is lettuce in the burrito. Skip it if you don't like that - the rest of the burrito is awesome. Lettuce in a burrito is a personal decision every person must make in their life as to whether or not they fancy it among the internal heavy hitters which make up 'the burrito'. Lettuce in the burrito doesn't degrade the quality nor change the 5-star rating.

The have a good selection of salsas, pico, and pickled carrots/jalapenos. You really can't go wrong.

This little 82nd gem is wonderful to have in the neighborhood.

I will forever dream of the cake. Mmmmm... caaaaaake.

This is for a review of the vegetarian burrito. I came in on a Sunday morning and the place was empty, including most of the shelves/refrigerator space. At first I wasn't sure it was still open, but they were. The service was extremely friendly and there is free soup. I didn't end up having any though because I ordered a burrito and it was GARGANTUAN. So the value is definitely there. The burrito itself was just alright. Lots of beans and very filling, but it suffered from being assembled in chunks. You know how it goes. All beans on the top, all lettuce etc on the bottom. There was also a decent salsa bar that included Pico de Gallo and several very good salsas. I tried a couple and they were both very good. I like spicy, and they delivered. Want to give this  place more stars, but I just wasn't wowed. Would def go back if in a pinch tho! It's perfectly average with friendly service, which is what 3 stars means to me.

    The service is always friendly!

The food is always amazing, definitely go on weekends to try the barbacoa tacos with consomé. The tripas are also amazing and always tender and crunchy.

The flan is the best I've ever had in my life and the tres leches is also delicious.

The super burrito ($7) and the super quesadilla ($7) are, you guessed it, super huge and super delicious. They both come with choice of any meat (my husband orders a super chile relleno burrito), cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion but they also include sour cream AND avocado still for the low price of $7. The burritos used to be $5 but since they increased in size and more ingredients were added, the price jumped a little. I still think $7 is a good deal especially since most sit down restaurants would charge $10+ for the same thing.

I'm not sure if they're rearranging the store or what but it looks very different since we were last in. There were hardly any products for purchase on the shelves, boxes were stacked and lined along the walls, and only one sad looking cake in the bakery was on display. At least they added more tables and chairs for their customers. Don't let this stop you from coming in though. Dine in or take out. You can either stuff yourself until it hurts or save for later to enjoy again. We always choose the latter.
